Welcome to Slea Paddlers

Welcome to Our Club!

We are a diverse group of paddlers, ranging from beginners to experienced enthusiasts of all ages ranging from 8 years upwards. Our community-based club provides a supportive environment that ensures the welfare of our members and encourages everyone to enjoy the sport and stay involved throughout their lives.

Whatever your experience why not come and give the club a try, learn new skills, make new friends, and have fun on the water.

As a Paddle UK accredited club, we are recognised as a safe, rewarding, and fulfilling place for participants of all ages. This accreditation also helps parents and carers feel confident that they are choosing the right club for their young people. Our coaches hold relevant Paddle UK coaching awards and are knowledgeable about "Safeguarding and child protection."

Check our calendar for up-and-coming events and trips.

Our Activities:

  • Regular Events: We host multiple events throughout the year, including fortnightly river sessions (March to October) and pool sessions (October to March).

  • Exciting Locations: Our paddling adventures take us to various locations, such as Grantham with its small weirs, Ripon in North Yorkshire, Llangollen in Wales, and the Washburn for more experienced paddlers. We also visit the National White-Water Centre in Nottingham, the White-Water Centre in Northampton, and a playful weir in Newark on the River Trent.

  • Challenges: Members can undertake the Paddle UK Three Lakes Challenge, paddling the largest lakes in England, Scotland, and Wales. Other challenges include the Trent Loop, a 13-mile paddle around Nottingham.

Our Equipment: We use a variety of boats, including kayaks, canoes, SUPs (Stand Up Paddleboards), and even a coracle. The club provides all the necessary equipment to get you on the water.

Our Volunteers: None of our events would be possible without the support of our dedicated volunteers who help with transportation and organisation.
